SOLD OUT – THANK YOU!
Who has never dreamed of having the power of a superhero? Imaginations of superhuman strength, unprecedented speed, the possibility of flying, being invisible – all these ideas have certainly flashed through the mind of many children and adults many times. We admire fictional characters known from pop culture, we are entranced by the possibilities of Captain America or Captain Marvel. Yet in the real world, superpowers are nothing extraordinary or unattainable. In the course of evolution, animals developed many skills that we humans can only dream of. We constantly observe the world of nature and learn solutions that we can use, for example, in new technologies. Maybe this is where the solutions to many civilization’s problems lie.
When something seems impossible for us, nature consistently proves us that we are wrong and we know little about its resources. What we see as a superpower in the animal world is simply an evolutionary adaptation to environmental conditions, way of defense against predators, or an effective prey-hunting strategy. During the Researchers’ Night 2020 you will meet animal superheroes that you will not find in comic books or the cinema.
Have you ever wondered what enables birds to fly for many hours without rest, and what is the difference between a bird’s flight and a bat’s flight? Could singing be a superpower that is vital to survival? Is the beaver a superhero, who is on a important ecological mission? What does Superman really have to do with a dung beetle? Can we findin the animal world organisms that control the minds of other creatures? These are just a few of the questions we will be looking for answers together!
On September 25, we invite families, friends, adults and children to the European Researchers’ Night 2020 at the EXPERYMENT Science Centre in Gdynia. You will meet many scientists, enthusiasts and educators. You will see animals in a new way and learn many amazing things about your pets and apparent pests.
The program includes, among other things, engaging workshops, fun popular science lectures, a specially prepared flight zone and of course our exhibition, which you will get to know from a different perspective. You will have the opportunity to take part in an interactive game: you’ll face nature’s challenges and discover animal superpowers! And these are just some of our attractions during the Researchers’ Night!
Remember that for the Researchers’ Night 2020 tickets are available for everyone at the reduced price. The number of guests is limited!
